Plenty of teams across the country set up themes for their college football season shenanigans and enjoyment. It’s a way to add even more pageantry and fun into a sport that is packed full of traditions that enjoy pageantry and fun. And the University of Washington is no different.

This season, as the Washington Huskies migrate on into the Big Ten Conference from the Pac-12, Washington Husky football fans will be able to enjoy plenty of themes, fun, celebrations, and tributes throughout the season.

This year, Jedd Fisch and the Washington Huskies will get to play six home games (the Apple Cup being at a neutral site changes things a bit for how many home games UW would normally have). And with those six games, we’ve got six different themes.

Here’s what you need to know about the Washington Huskies and their various themes for celebrating this season. Let’s take a look at everything that’s in store for Washington football faithful this year at Alaska Airlines Field at Husky Stadium.

2024 Washington Huskies football home game schedule and game theme list

Let’s start with the first game of the year. That seems like a great time to start, right? It’s coming up soon, after all. The Huskies will kick off their season with a celebration of the history of Seattle sports. There’s a lot to celebrate there, thus Seattle Sports Day.

Game two of the season will feature a bunch of music and talent and folks flocking to Alaska Airlines Field at Husky Stadium. That’s because the Huskies are hosting Band Day when they host Eastern Michigan on September 7.

After a road trip east, Washington will return home to the Pacific Northwest to meet up with Northwestern for Washington’s first conference home game in the Big Ten. Along with that, the Huskies are hosting Superhero Day to celebrate the folks who are integral in keeping Seattle moving along and thriving.

On October 5, Washington Husky fans will get to celebrate a Purple Out against the only team to beat the Huskies last season. Washington will host a rematch of last season’s national championship game against Michigan in the midst of a Purple Out.

There are a ton of new things happening this season, but one thing that is going to be familiar for Washington Husky fans is homecoming. And the Huskies will get a familiar foe in the USC Trojans for such an event.

And then, to wrap up the home games for this season, Washington will get to host the UCLA Bruins with a dual theme of Salute to Service and Senior Day. That’s a lot of emotions packed into one event.
