Danny Sprinkle has added a second player from the portal, and once again, it's a sharp shooter shooting from behind the arc at nearly a 40% clip in his career. This time, it's Steele Venters from Gonzaga, a player who started his college career at Eastern Washington. This is clearly Sprinkles' goal: to add players who can shoot from three.

It was the most glaring issue for Washington last season. UW only had one player who could confidently knock down a three: Quimari Peterson. Now, he's already added two and will clearly have a couple of options when needed around the perimeter.

Last season for Gonzaga, Venters averaged 15 minutes per game with 5 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 1 assist. He was a nice depth piece for Mark Few, and the Bulldogs were able to use him in creative ways on both ends of the floor. He had five double-digit games in his time as a Bulldog.

Before he was at Gonzaga, he played three seasons for the Eastern Washington Eagles, averaging over 15 points per game. He was one of their most efficient scorers as a starter and a wing who played over 30 minutes per game.

He's an in-state player out of Ellensburg who's 6'7, and while he mostly plays on the wing, he has some versatility to his game. He's an excellent addition, but hopefully Danny Sprinkle is just getting started. This team is still nowhere near competing at a high level in the Big Ten.

Sprinkle has two major themes in the transfer portal so far: shooters and local players (or players with connections to UW). Venters an example of both of those. Sprinkle has also added Parker Friedrichsen from Davidson, who's another sharpshooter.
