The Washington Huskies struggled to find consistency behind the arc last season. The Huskies as a team shot 31.5% from three, and that was mainly thanks to Quimari Peterson's 35%. However, that 31.5% is even inflated because the Huskies only made 6.7 threes per game, which means they didn't trust themselves to shoot many. 6.7 threes are good for 288th in all of the NCAA. That's terrible.

Danny Sprinkle didn't waste much time fixing that in the transfer portal. Especially with Peterson gone, Washington received a transfer from Davidson, Parker Friedrichsen, a sniper from long distance.

Friedrichsen is one of the best three-point shooters in the country at nearly 41% from behind the arc, making 68 threes this season on 168 attempts. That's an impressive number and indicates that he knows part of his role is to knock down shots from distance. His 63 attempts on the season would have been second to Peterson for the Dawgs with 71.

Friedrichsen is entering his senior season after playing his first two seasons at Wake Forest and last season at Davidson, and will bring veteran leadership to the Huskies for his final go-around.

Last season Friedrichsen averaged 10.8 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.4 assists. The 6'4 guard will bring not only good shooting for the Huskies but also the ability to play defense and match up well against other long guards in the Big Ten.

This isn't the end of the portal additions for Sprinkle. He's working to add a handful more, and he won't even be content with only one good outside shooter. There will be another addition in that regard, and a few other quality players around Friedrichsen. However, it's a great start and one that will help immensely next season.
