Washington’s high school recruiting efforts have yielded some strong early results this year. The Huskies have already landed commitments from a trio of four-star offensive playmakers in quarterback Blake Roskopf, running back Jeremy Adeyanju, and wide receiver Zerek Sidney, but more may be on the way.

The Huskies are now contending for blue-chip receiver prospects Tre Moore and Osani Gayles, who both recently listed Washington as one of the few schools they were still respectively considering. Either player would be a major acquisition for Fisch and the Huskies, who currently have the nation’s No. 12 recruiting class according to 247Sports.

Washington named as one of receiver Tre Moore’s final three schools

Huskies fans had cause to celebrate on Friday, when Moore announced via Hayes Fawcett’s social media that he’d narrowed his recruitment down to Washington, Ohio State, and Miami.

Moore has unbelievable upside thanks to his prototypical 6-foot-3, 200-pound frame, breakaway speed, and route-running chops. As a junior at Pflugerville Weiss High School in Pflugerville, Texas, Moore took 85 receptions for an impressive 1,443 receiving yards and a truly eye-popping 19 touchdowns.

He’s currently rated by 247Sports as the Class of 2027’s No. 21 wide receiver and No. 160 overall talent, but he could skyrocket up those rankings this fall if he can carry last year’s success into his senior season.

Moore was offered by Ohio State during an April 13 visit to campus, but has held offers from Miami and Washington since June and July 2025, respectively. He’s now set to make official visits to all three schools in the coming weeks. Dates have already been tentatively set with Miami for May 29 and with Washington on June 19, but no dates have been announced for an Ohio State visit or a commitment.

Ohio State and Miami, two of the nation’s premier programs, will certainly give the Huskies plenty of fight as Moore winds down his recruitment. The Buckeyes could be troublesome given their stellar reputation for producing NFL-caliber receivers, and the Hurricanes will certainly remind Moore of the opportunities they gave 2025 true freshman Malachi Toney.

However, in the last three years, the Huskies have seen two 6-foot-3 receivers (Rome Odunze and Denzel Boston) earn major paydays after being selected early in the NFL Draft. Fisch would be wise to remind Moore of that, and the benefits of his status as offensive playcaller, when the wideout comes to Montlake next month.

Huskies in the top five for receiver Osani Gayles

Moore’s announcement came just two days after Gayles, a 5-foot-11, 185-pound receiver from Tracy, Calif., listed the Huskies among five finalists vying to earn his commitment. Gayles is choosing between Washington, Alabama, Notre Dame, Tennessee, and Stanford.

Gayles began his high school career with Stockton, Calif.’s St. Mary, before transferring to Florida athletic powerhouse IMG Academy ahead of his junior year. He saw limited usage across nine games, but still finished with 20 catches for 492 yards (24.6 YPC) and five touchdowns, as well as five carries for 70 yards and another touchdown.

Despite underwhelming statistical production, Gayles is one of the highest-rated receivers in the Class of 2027 thanks to the exceptional fluidity with which he moves both before and after the catch. Gayles is ranked by 247Sports as the nation’s No. 7 receiver, the nation’s No. 35 overall player, and the No. 5 player from Florida. He’s held an offer from the Huskies since June 2024.

Like Moore, Gayles is planning on visiting with each of his remaining contenders. Rivals reports that Gayles is set to visit Stanford, Alabama, Washington, Tennessee, and Notre Dame in that order across consecutive weekends from March 23 to June 20. However, 247Sports has yet to confirm the Washington, Notre Dame, and Stanford visits, which could mean that scheduling is still being decided.

Regardless, Huskies fans should be excited about Washington’s recruiting efforts. The team’s 2027 class is still taking shape, but the addition of either Moore or Gayles (or both) would go a long way toward completing Washington’s offense of the future.
