Jedd Fisch put together one of the best 2026 recruiting classes in the country, and he's already off to a hot start for 2027. Today, 4-star wide receiver Zerek Sidney from Goodyear, Arizona, announced he's committing to the Washington Huskies. He's now the third commit for the 2027 class as the foundations are being laid for next year.

First, let's talk about Sidney and then dig into the other commits in the class and why it's already shaping up to be a good one.

Sidney was a breakout player as a sophomore, going for almost 600 yards and 11 touchdowns. His performance was part of a 5A Arizona Championship team. However, in 2025, he was injured and didn't play as much, with only 11 catches for 111 yards. Still, in that limited action, it showed how electric he can be.

The 24/7 Sports scouts say what impresses them the most is his ability to attack the football. To make catches in traffic and contested with ease. He then looks for yards after the catch every time. He's relentless and has a high motor.

These all sound like the types of receivers Jedd Fisch loves to bring in. Fisch has had a good track record with young receivers, and Sidney may be in a long line of impressive Husky pass-catchers.

Sidney joins two other players in the class, both from the state of Washington: Braylon Pope, a wide receiver from Sumner, and Maurice Williams from Graham. Williams is listed as an "athlete" but will most likely play defensive back at the next level. Both are 3-star in-state players who are laying the foundation for this recruiting class. Adding Sidney is a big addition early in the class.

This puts Washington as 22nd in the recruiting rankings according to 24/7 Sports. While it's still really early, this is an excellent start to 2027.
