The Sun Bowl is just about here and the Washington Huskies are in El Paso hoping to end the season with a win. Unfortunately, a win isn’t really guaranteed here and the Louisville Cardinals would also like to head into the offseason with a victory capping off their season.

This year has been a little bit of a roller coaster, to be completely honest. And we can just focus on what’s happened on the field. We don’t really need to go into everything that happened with the coaching change and the conference realignment stuff.

Washington, at 6-6, has seen a few highs and lows all throughout the season. Jedd Fisch and his drastically overhauled roster have had a few moments that were great and a few moments that were infuriating and disappointing.

Such is life.

Now, as the Huskies head into a matchup with the Cardinals, there are a few key contributors on Washington’s roster that everyone should know.

3 Washington Huskies everyone should know heading into the 2024 Sun Bowl

Here are three UW Huskies to know ahead of the 2024 Sun Bowl.

  • Demond Williams Jr., Quarterback - Originally the backup quarterback playing in specific situations for the Washington Huskies, Williams has emerged as a fascinating starter who is looking to get more experience and showcase his potential against the Louisville Cardinals. So far this season, Williams has completed 76.7 percent of his passes for 570 yards and four touchdowns while also running for 234 yards and another touchdown.
  • Jonah Coleman, Running back - One of the most talented runners in the country and one of the most consistent running backs around, Coleman played a huge role for Washington’s offense all throughout the season. The former Arizona Wildcat has run for 1,011 yards and 10 touchdowns this year all while averaging 5.5 yards per carry. Not bad.
  • Giles Jackson, Wide receiver - He’s become one of the most reliable wide receivers in the Big Ten and the Washington Huskies have definitely needed the sort of consistency that Jackson has delivered all throughout the season. Jackson has caught 74 passes (which leads Washington) for 732 yards and three touchdowns so far this season.

With the Sun Bowl here, we’ll get to see how Williams and Coleman operate and how much of a run-pass balance Jedd Fisch and Brennan Carroll have with the offensive play calls.
