Jedd Fisch and the Washington Huskies are building some interesting recruiting momentum and they’ve just picked up an intriguing local talent. Victor Sanchez-Hernandez, a talented edge rusher from Kamiak High School in Mukilteo, Washington is joining the 2025 Washington Huskies signing class.
Sanchez-Hernandez weighs in at 6-foot-5 and 230 pounds, making him a great addition to the Huskies front seven, an area that could definitely benefit from having an injection of talent to build upon. And of course, it’s great that he’s local to Washington and is familiar with the Huskies. Sanchez-Hernandez has been committed to UW since June 23, 2024 and could be a huge part of this class.
Sanchez-Hernandez brings a fascinating athletic background to Montlake. In addition to giving quarterbacks nightmares on Friday nights with Kamiak High School, Sanchez-Hernandez has also built up a pretty impressive resume of taking down fellow Junior Olympians. In fact, Sanchez-Hernandez is a three-time Junior Olympian and two-time Pan-American champ in taekwondo.
Washington Huskies add talented edge rusher Victor Sanchez-Hernandez to 2024 signing class
According to his profile on 247Sports, Sanchez-Hernandez’ primary recruiter was Jason Kaufusi. It’s also worth noting that 247Sports has the talented pass rusher ranked as the15th-ranked prospect in Washington and 86th-ranked edge rusher nationally.
It was important for Fisch and company to keep him at home in Washington and they pulled that off. Sanchez-Hernandez has a ton of athleticism that he brings to the table and it should be noted that his martial arts background likely gives him an element of body control, coordination, and discipline that other defensive ends may not have developed just yet.
If nothing else, it’s a cool thing to brag about.
The Huskies were able to get Sanchez-Hernandez to sign with them over the likes of the Utah Utes, Washington State Cougars, Oregon State Beavers, Boise State Broncos, BYU Cougars, and various other teams.
