Well, score one for Jedd Fisch and the Washington Huskies, folks. On signing day, Fisch was able to get Marcus Harris, a 247Sports Composite 4-star wide receiver to pick to play in Seattle for the Huskies instead of Norman, Oklahoma, for Brent Venables and the Oklahoma Sooners as he was previously committed to do.

And that feels pretty good, folks.

Harris ended up signing with Fisch and the Huskies instead of choosing to play for (among many other teams) the aforementioned Sooners, the Alabama Crimson Tide, Oregon Ducks, Georgia Bulldogs, UCLA Bruins, Auburn Tigers, Colorado Buffaloes, Florida Gators, Michigan Wolverines, Miami Hurricanes, Ole Miss Rebels, Tennessee Vols, Texas Longhorns, and Texas A&M Aggies.

That’s quite the list of schools who offered Harris and again, that’s not a complete list. This feels like a significant addition to Fisch’s first full recruiting class. Washington Husky fans should be thrilled that UW was able to pull this one off.

According to his recruiting profile on 247 Sports, Harris’ primary recruiter from Washington was Kevin Cummings. Harris, having spent his high school career playing at the powerhouse high school program that is Mater Dei High School, is bringing some fascinating experience to Seattle.

This commitment shows that the Huskies are able to keep pulling fascinating top-tier talent out of California. According to the good folks at 247 Sports, Washington just picked up the No. 35 recruit in the state of California.

Not bad.

When Harris arrives in Seattle, the Huskies will get at 6-foot-1 and 185 pound wide receiver who has the sort of talent that will be fun to see in an offense orchestrated by Jedd Fisch and Brennan Carrol. It’ll be fascinating to see how the Huskies will be able to develop Harris as they move forward.
