After a rough first season in Seattle, Danny Sprinkle is on a tear on the recruiting trail and it sure looks like the head coach of the Washington Husky men’s basketball team is piecing together a roster that will make things far more interesting in his second season at UW.

We’ve already talked about how he put together an incredible recruiting class according to the good folks over at On3. And that’s important to note. He’s got one of the best recruiting classes in the Big Ten, which is good.

But it’s also important to brag about how Sprinkle has assembled one of the most impressive groups of transfers headed to Seattle during this transfer portal window. The window is now closed, but while it was open, Washington put together a top 10 class of transfers, according to 247 Sports.

Yeah, Sprinkle sure seems pretty intent on putting together a really impressive team. The rate at which he is recruiting is putting him in competition with some pretty elite company and he’s also addressing positions all across the court in a balanced and efficient manner. This could pay off in a big way this season.

Here are the recruits that Danny Sprinkle and Washington picked up through the transfer portal this recruiting cycle

What’s fairly interesting (to me, at least) is that Sprinkle went out and found guys from all over the country competing in various different conferences and contributing to various different types of programs. But, it’s also really interesting to note that three of the teams that Sprinkle plucked players away from are in the Big Ten.

  • Wesley Yates III - Transfer from USC
  • Quimari Peterson - Transfer from ETSU
  • Bryson Tucker - Transfer from Indiana
  • Jacob Ognacevic - Transfer from Lipscomb
  • Lathan Sommerville - Transfer from Rutgers

Yeah, this is a coast-to-coast transfer portal recruiting effort and the Big Ten is a coast-to-coast sort of conference.

Here is where the Washington Huskies rank in 247 Sports top 10 transfer portal recruiting classes for 2025

Sprinkle and the Huskies don’t have exactly the best spot in the rankings, but it’s clear that the Washington men’s basketball team was able to assemble a group that has a ton of intriguing potential. We’re talking about guys that should help the Huskies play at a higher level sooner rather than later.

  1. St. John's
  2. Michigan
  3. Louisville
  4. Kentucky
  5. Iowa
  6. Auburn
  7. Indiana
  8. Creighton
  9. LSU
  10. Washington

And yeah, that’s not the top of the rankings, but it’s pretty dang close. Sprinkle really put together a solid transfer portal class and I, for one, am thrilled to see how that will pay off for UW during the next college basketball season.
