These 3 former Huskies have yet to exit the transfer portal. Could any return to UW?

The Washington Huskies had 21 former players officially enter the transfer portal this offseason, 18 of whom have since committed to new schools. However, three players remain on the market.

Could any return to Washington? A player backing out of the portal is rare, but Husky fans have already seen it happen in 2026. Here’s the latest on the three departees yet to commit elsewhere:

Kevin Green Jr.

Receiver Kevin Green Jr. originally committed to Jedd Fisch and Arizona, where he redshirted in 2022. Despite seeing limited action (8 catches for 97 yards) with the Wildcats in 2023, Green Jr. followed Fisch to Washington in 2024.

Unfortunately, Green Jr. missed the entire 2024 season due to injury, and struggled to make an impact in 2025. Though he played in seven games this past season, the former fours-star prospect never recorded a single touch with the Huskies.

On Jan. 14, Green Jr. became the fourth Husky receiver to enter the transfer portal this year. Pass-catchers Audric Harris, Marcus Harris, and Raiden Vines-Bright had already announced their departures.

Green Jr.’s move was an interesting one, as it was Vines-Bright who started ahead of Green Jr. at slot receiver. When Vines-Bright left for Arizona State, his departure seemingly gave Green Jr. a chance at taking over in 2026.

Green Jr.’s decision to enter the transfer portal anyway could mean one of two things: He either wasn’t in line to start next year, or he’d had enough of Fisch and company. Given his previous choice to follow Fisch from Arizona, I’d bet on the former.

But will Green Jr. really depart? In the six days since his announcement, Green Jr. has yet to be publicly linked to any schools. It’s possible that the 5-foot-11, 165-pound rising junior isn’t receiving as much attention as he’d hoped he would.

Though Green Jr. returning to Washington would be unlikely, it’s an option which the Mission Hills, Calif. Native should consider. Washington’s only taken one receiver from the portal this cycle, and it’s unlikely that 6-foot-3 Christian Moss would take any reps from Green Jr. on the inside. Green Jr. also competed for reps as a return specialist in 2025, and could see increased opportunity there in 2026 following the departure of Sunday-bound star Denzel Boston.

Jayvon and Armon Parker

Twin defensive linemen Javyon and Armon Parker have had terrible injury luck ever since they committed to Washington as three-star prospects in 2022.

Armon suffered a season-ending knee injury while playing pickup-basketball that summer. After getting healthy, he didn’t play in 2023, and he then suffered another season-ending knee injury in the summer of 2024. After battling back in 2025, Armon appeared in eight games, finishing with eight total tackles and a sack. However, he suffered yet another knee injury late in the year, which caused him to miss Washington’s final four games.

Jayvon avoided the injury bug at first, playing in eight games as a true freshman in 2022 and 13 as a sophomore in 2023. He was in the midst of a strong start to his 2024 season when he tore his Achilles against Rutgers, an injury that sidelined him for the remainder of that season and for almost all of UW’s 2025 campaign.

Armon decided to enter the transfer portal on Jan. 9, and Jayvon followed suit the next day. Both had been through the ringer in Seattle, but their decision was a slightly surprising one given the state of Washington’s defensive line.

The Huskies lost four interior defenders to ineligibility this offseason, and another two had already departed via the transfer portal when the Parker twins announced their exits. If Jayvon and Armon had chosen to stay at Washington in 2026, both could have become major contributors.

Unfortunately, they seem even less likely than Green Jr. to return to Montlake. The twins–who each have one year of eligibility remaining and are shopping themselves to teams as a package deal–visited Wisconsin, Illinois, Arkansas, and Auburn in the span of four days last week. All four schools are at least 1,400 miles closer to the twins’ hometown of Detroit than Seattle is.

The amount of attention these two are receiving in the portal is an extremely strong indication that neither will return in 2026. Neither addressed their decision to transfer with any kind of social media statement, which is another sign that both may be entirely focused on a future outside of Washington.
