Demond Williams Jr. is receiving some incredibly bad advice, and the transfer saga has taken two really weird turns. One may end up helping Williams more than the other, but both are going to be told in a 30 for 30 someday. After being fired by his agent, Williams turned around and made sure he got a lawyer who had created transfer portal chaos before.
Demond Williams Jr. has been fired by his sports agent
The strange twist that immediately came out after Demond Williams Jr. entered the portal and placed a "do not contact" tag on his entry was that he had the same agent as Jedd Fisch. Both were represented by Doug Hendrickson of Wasserman Football. Which is probably a conflict of interest right off the bat. However, it got weirder when news broke that Wasserman Football was also blindsided by Williams's decision and wasn't actively shopping him.
Doug Hendrickson and Wasserman Football have since decided to cut ties with Williams, stating "philosophical differences."

Demond Williams Jr. hired the lawyer that got Xavier Lucas to Miami and playing right away
If you thought that was a strange twist, the next one may add even more drama to the pile. Williams went out and hired Darren Heitner, the same lawyer who helped when Xavier Lucas signed a contract with Wisconsin, was tampered with by Miami, and then tried to enter the transfer portal. Wisconsin refused to submit his name to the portal. So Heitner and Lucas literally just un-enrolled from Wisconsin and then enrolled at Miami and played as a "walk-on."
The quotes are generous because there was clearly money exchanging hands, and his school was for sure being paid for. Williams will now be represented by the guy who made all that happen "legally." Speaking of people who profit from transfer portal chaos.
The story continues to get stranger and stranger but these extra two twists add even more fuel to the fire. The sports agent will probably have the evidence that Washington needs in the legal battle, but now Williams has retained a lawyer that has pulled off this move before. What a mess.
