Big Ten football: College football fans mock Michigan as Wolverines struggle vs Texas
By Ethan Lee
The Michigan Wolverines aren’t really having all that much fun right now. Everyone else, on the other hand, seems to be thoroughly enjoying seeing the Wolverines struggle to take on the Texas Longhorns right now.
Michigan, who is a bit of a controversial program depending on who you ask, won the national title last season. They may have beaten the Washington Huskies. They were really good last year. This season? Uh, well, there are major questions about Michigan’s offense. These questions were asked last week. They are once again being asked this week.
Why, you might ask, are questions being asked about Michigan?
It’s because the Wolverines are currently floundering and they ended the first half against the Texas Longhorns by trailing 24-3.
It’s not necessarily that it’s a surprising result. The Wolverines have functionally a brand new team from what they were a season ago and the Longhorns have one of the most talented rosters in the country this season.
But, well, given how Michigan drew all sorts of attention for a couple of scandals and they’re under the NCAA’s scrutiny at the moment, this sort of result is pretty funny, all things considered. It’s funny that Mihcigan only had 88 yards in the first half while the Longhorns racked up 279.
And plenty of other folks are laughing about this as well.
Big Ten football: Michigan’s struggles against the Texas Longhorns draw attention from college football fans and media members
Given all of the attention and scrutiny that Michigan had for the way it won a national title season, there are plenty of memes and jokes that exist now. And those memes and jokes are popping up all over the place.
Things are getting messy for the Wolverines.
It’s a pretty lopsided affair so far.
And a lot of folks are going to take some pleasure in seeing Michigan struggle.
But, at the end of the day, Michigan can do this:
They’ve got a chance to still brag a bit here. Basically, as a Houston Astros fan, I can confirm that this is the best approach to take. And Michigan fans should lean into it. Because there may not be many other things to celebrate this season if the Wolverines regularly look this messy.
