After suffering a loss for the first time this season, Jedd Fisch and the Washington Huskies have a great chance at bouncing back this week. That’s because Fisch and the Huskies get to meet up with the Northwestern Wildcats this week.

The Huskies’ first season in the Big Ten was always going to be a challenge and that became more than apparent as the Huskies had to rebuild a coaching staff and roster unexpectedly earlier this year as Kalen DeBoer left for the Alabama Crimson Tide.

But it wasn’t expected that Jedd Fisch’s UW football team would struggle to make it to a bowl game. Unfortunately, there’s a chance that Washington will have trouble getting to at least six wins. That’s especially true after last week’s loss in the Apple Cup and when considering the nature of how rigorous the Huskies’ schedule looks this season.

Right now, Washington sits at 2-1 and has four games against ranked opponents and five road games up ahead. That just doesn’t make the road to bowl eligibility all that easy.

But it’s not impossible. Not by any stretch of the imagination.

2024 Washington Huskies football schedule: 4 most likely wins left this season

Big Ten play starts this week as the Huskies get the Wildcats and then next week we’ll see Washington head all the way to the East Coast to play Rutgers. After that, Washington hosts a rematch of the national championship game as the Michigan Wolverines come to Seattle. UW gets a road trip to Iowa on October 12, takes a bye week, and then faces Indiana at Indiana on October 26.

Washington will host USC to start November, travel to Penn State on November 9, return to Husky Stadium to host UCLA on November 15, and then will get another bye week right before facing the Oregon Ducks in Autzen Stadium.

Now, let’s go over which games are most winnable on Washington’s path to bowl eligibility. To do that, we’re going to examine things through the lens of the ESPN FPI and ESPN Analytics Matchup Predictor tools.
