This last weekend was the first weekend for high school recruits to take official visits. The Washington Huskies had eight known players on campus checking out Montlake on an amazing weather weekend. However, unlike many other programs around the country, the Huskies didn't land a single recruit from those visits. Should we sound the alarm? Or are things still tracking in the right direction?

First, it should be noted that Washington has a top-20 recruiting class according to 24/7 Sports for 2027. The Huskies are coming in at No. 17 right now and are on pace for a top-15 class in the country when all is said and done. That's nothing to turn your nose up at. So, there should be some credit for Jedd Fisch for landing a few big fish before official visits even happened.

He also already has plenty of the top players in the state of Washington, whom he has been working to recruit for a few years now. That's a great sign for the 2027 class.

Second, there were only eight (known) recruits on campus this last weekend. That's not a huge weekend, and many of the priority recruits are in the next few weeks. Whether it was intentional or not, getting recruits on campus in June is often better than May (for the weather).

Let's add another element to the mix: Of the eight recruits on campus, five of them were already committed to Washington. The Dawgs hosted QB Blake Roskopf, DL Tevita Nonu, RB Jeremy Adeyanju, WR Zerek Sidney, and LB Titus Osterman. All five are already in the fold. Which means Fisch only had three players who weren't yet Huskies on campus: Dontay Tyson, Chaz Gray, and Kamil Loud.

The visit for Tyson went great, and you can see him sporting Washington purple and gold all across his social media. He doesn't plan to commit until he has all his official visits in, but the Huskies are in a great spot. Gray and Loud are in a similar spot each walking away with the Huskies high on the list.

The bar was set high by Fisch for the three uncommitted targets who were on campus. All three could end up being a Husky, but none pulled the trigger yet. It wasn't a failure of a weekend, even without a commitment, because of all the reasons mentioned above. Don't be surprised to see one or all three of these players as Dawgs in less than a month.

Now the Huskies jump into an even busier weekend with 13 (known) players coming over June 5th, and five are uncommitted to Washington.
