Even while visiting UCLA, 4-star safety is trending toward Washington

The Dawgs next commitment may not be one of the players currently on campus.

Washington is hosting a handful of recruits this weekend as the first official weekend of visits can happen for 2027 recruits. There's a chance that Washington walks away with a new commitment after this weekend, and it may not even be from a player who is on campus. It could be from a recruit currently visiting UCLA.

Jaden Walk-Green has been considered a Washington lean for a little bit, but yesterday, 24/7 Sports recruiting insider Blair Angulo put in a crystal ball for Walk-Green to choose the Huskies. The timing is hilarious as the Bruins currently have the 4-star safety on campus.

Walk-Green has five official visits scheduled for UCLA, Vanderbilt, Washington, Arizona State, and Kansas State as he makes up his mind. The Huskies will have him in Montlake next weekend after he visits both UCLA this weekend and Vanderbilt on June 2.

Jedd Fisch is hoping to close the deal before any of the final two visits take place (to ASU and Kansas State). He's a top target for defensive coaches Taylor Mays and Ryan Walters. He actually has a playing style that is likened to Mays. 24/7 Sports' description of him uses the exact wording of "can play corner or safety and is a big hitter."

On3.com has him as a 4-star prospect with a grade of 91, while 24/7 is a little less bullish on the recruit from California, and his grade is a 3-star 88 but a 4-star composite. Fisch and the coaching staff love the play of Walk-Green and have made him a priority target.

While the two recruiting services don't exactly agree on his grade, both sites are predicting his decision to go to Washington. On3.com has the percentage at 89.9% to pick the Huskies. That's a pretty high confidence meter. It could happen before his visit to Washington, or it could happen after. Walk-Green may not be the next recruit to commit, as he's not even on campus, but the timing of the recruiting insider's prediction has you wondering if maybe the decision is imminent.
