The biggest surprise and arguably the biggest loss for the Washington Huskies was watching Adam Mohammed leave in the portal. He was projected to be a major part of Washington's running back stable. It prompted Washington head coach Jedd Fisch to pay attention to running backs in the portal. While it wasn't overly necessary, it would have helped to have an experienced back on the roster.

Then, Oregon football's season ended as it always does: coming up short, and players started jumping into the portal. And Fisch noticed one in particular, Jayden Limar, who played high school just up the road in Lake Stevens, Washington. He's been on the Ducks for the last three seasons, being part of their rotation, but finally is coming home to where he has always belonged.

The Huskies lost both of their top two backs this offseason. Jonah Coleman is off to the NFL Draft, and Adam Mohammed transferred to Cal. The most likely starter for the Huskies is Jordan Washington, who just finished his redshirt season at UW. He had 27 carries for 233 yards and one touchdown. Behind Washington are mostly young guns. Limar adds experience and another major rotational piece, maybe even the potential primary starter.

Limar was a 4-star recruit out of high school, but has never fully taken the reins in Oregon. He's been a rotational running back every season in Oregon, carrying for 24, 25, and 46 carries, respectively. He had his biggest season yet in 2025, carrying 46 times for 262 yards and three touchdowns.

There's a lot of talent in that running back room, but the senior, Limar, will add veteran savvy and the ability needed to balance it out. It's a good pickup, and it makes it even sweeter that he came back home from Oregon. From the darkness to the light.
