If you want to turn the TV off for the rest of this one to get some sleep, I don't blame you. If not, perhaps brew another cup of coffee, as it'll be another late one in Seattle (please be the last 8 PM start, like, ever). In all seriousness though, it's been all Washington against UC Davis so far, as expected.
The Huskies lead 42-10, with dominant performances on offense, and good-enough defense. Jonah Coleman is off to another great start, as he has 80 rushing yards with four touchdowns -- averaging eight yards per carry. Yes, I said FOUR touchdowns. The Doak Walker Award talks will continue, with hopefully some more Heisman buzz eventually.

5 TD's.
4 for Jonah Coleman.

Quarterback Demond Williams Jr. has been efficient like he seemingly always is: he is 12 for 17 with 167 passing yards. He's led an offense that has scored a touchdown on every possession.
He's been a threat in the run game, as well. Williams Jr. faked out the Aggies defense (and the cameraman for the TV broadcast) on multiple option plays, using his legs to pick up 53 yards on seven attempts. He added a rushing touchdown of his own on a shifty run to evade multiple Aggies defenders.

Interestingly enough, the biggest play of the night so far came on special teams -- a 78-yard punt return touchdown for Denzel Boston.
However, the defense is once again struggling to find consistency. UC Davis quarterback Caden Pinnick has been limited to just eight of 16 passing for 50 yards and an interception, and the Aggies' first two drives of the game were back-to-back three-and-outs for a combined -1 yard. But, some penalties and poor tackling led UC Davis to two good looks at scoring, ultimately converting a field goal and a touchdown.
Star cornerback Tacario Davis was responsible for the UW interception (his first with the team), but landed awkwardly and had to be evaluated for injury (coach Jedd Fisch said he thinks he'll be fine). Wide receiver Rashid Williams also got injured in the first half, and is out for the remainder of the game.
Overall, Coleman's performance so far in this game, and the season as a whole, is more than satisfying -- but the defense needs to clean up some of its frustrating moments, and the penalties on both sides of the ball need to decrease. It's also concerning that the injuries are starting to pile up, hopefully none of them are too serious.
The victory is all but sealed against UC Davis tonight, but the Huskies have another half to correct some mistakes and put more inspiring gameplay on tape going into their bye week.
