Danny Sprinkle is working to reload a depleted roster that is only returning six players. One option popped up, according to Jack McCauley of 24/7 Sports, that the Huskies are chasing: Drew Fielder, a transfer from Boise State.
Fielder is a big and impressive option who knows how to score from the post. He's one of the few high-scoring big men out in the portal who are realistic options for the Dawgs. He averaged 147. points and 5.7 rebounds as a Bronco last season. Yet, has the ability to take over games from the frontcourt. He had 10 games with 20 or more points and even had a 33-point game against San Diego State.
Sources: Washington is in a great spot with former Boise St. big man, Drew Fielder. Averaged 14.7 and 5.7 as a Bronco last year. Would be a great addition to @UW_MBB’s front court as Fielder can really score the ball. The Dawgs are in an excellent spot to land the talented big. pic.twitter.com/Fwmm6Pajaf

Fielder is actually a local player to Boise for the Broncos. He's 6'11 and 225 pounds and played his first two seasons at Georgetown before transferring back home to Boise. Fielder was solid for Georgetown, too, with 7.1 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. He has a knack for being around the ball inside the lane, and his frame causes problems.
While he isn't known for blocking shots, he can protect the rim when necessary and had a few games last season with multiple blocks in the game. He would be a great addition for the Huskies.
Danny Sprinkle and his staff really need to find quality players out of the portal in every position, and while they could use more guards than big men, the injuries were so debilitating last season that Sprinkle knows depth at every position matters a ton.
The Huskies are returning Frank Kepnang, Mady Traore, Lathan Sommerville, and Nikola Dzepina. All of them at one point last season were shelved or weren't playing in games. Fielder would add to that mix and really help elevate the frontcourt, especially in scoring.
