Danny Sprinkle has added another international basketball player today, this time from the highly competitive professional league, the NBL. Tristan Devers is a 20-year-old guard who played about 16 minutes last season for the Brisbane Bullets and averaged around five points per game. It's not a splashy addition, but it will prove to be an important addition. It also reveals that Sprinkle is fully invested in adding value from overseas.
Devers is now the second addition this offseason from the international realm. Sprinkle is known to have an interest in others around the world, too. It seems as if Sprinkle got who he could out of the transfer portal and now is working to fill out the rest of the Husky roster with foreign players.

The NBL is considered one of the top professional basketball leagues in the world. There are also levels to it, think of it like the G-League and the NBA. When Devers played for the NBL-1 (right below the top league), he was a star with 17.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 2.3 assists. He got the promotion to the NBL last season and was more of a rotational player.
Devers is still young and is considered on the "developmental" pipeline of the NBL. Now, he is going to bring his development to the NCAA and the Washington Huskies. He projects well to the NCAA and brings another option for Danny Sprinkle.
The hard part for Sprinkle this season is that he's rebuilding a roster that was depleted by the NBA and the transfer portal. He not only needs to replace roster spots, but he is also looking to upgrade. However, it seems as if his resources are limited, for he's chasing down players that are not of the same caliber as those leaving.
While Devers may be a great option, it's hard to tell, and he's not a sure bet. Yet, Sprinkle needs help with the roster, and he's trying to find the players from anywhere he can get them.
As of now, the Huskies have added seven players: four from the transfer portal, two from international waters, and one from the high school ranks. It's not all that splashy or exciting, but maybe it'll work. If you really squint, you can see it.
