It's hard to really know how serious any of these visitors were over the last week or so to the Washington basketball program. Yet, it feels as if Sprinkle continues to strike out on the big-time targets. Braeden Smith is off the board and headed to Notre Dame. Mikey Lewis is still shopping around after his UW visit. It seems like Alabama may outbid the Huskies for Drew Fielder.

It's a tough scene for Sprinkle right now, who's only been able to secure two commitments from shooting specialists, and yet Washington needs help everywhere. There's one target on the board that may be close, according to Kevin Cacabelos: Jaylin Stewart from UCONN.

This would be an ideal fit for both parties. Stewart is looking for an opportunity to play a ton of minutes, and guess what, Washington has a ton of minutes to offer. Stewart is also a local product from Garfield High School. He's spent all three years at UCONN and yet has basically stayed in the same role since his sophomore year.

Stewart's been an important part of the success of the UCONN Huskies, but not a featured player. He usually comes off the bench as the sixth or seventh man, playing around 18 minutes per game.

The 6'7 senior would have the opportunity to come home and play in his final season in front of his family and friends while also helping Sprinkle turn things around in Montlake. He may even help recruit others into the fold. UW needs a lot more from the portal and yet has only landed Parker Friedrichsen from Davidson and Steele Venters. Both are more known for their three-point shooting than their high-level play.

Stewart would add a nice boost to this lineup and help swing things towards the positive. However, it's hard to have a lot of hope for the direction of the basketball program right now after the last two seasons.
