The Demond Williams Jr. era is over in Washington as he turns villain, abuses the no-regulation system in the NCAA, signs a contract with UW, but then bails. That's all a big, big mess. However, there's a contingent of Washington Husky fans that want things to get even messier. How? There's energy behind the idea that Jedd Fisch should go after Noah Fifita, his old quarterback at Arizona.
The problem? Fifita is not in the portal. Which obviously doesn't seem to be a problem anymore, but there are some significant problems with this reunion, no matter how electric it would be. There are very good reasons it never happens.
Who does Washington target at QB?

Do they try for Noah Fifita?
Jedd Fisch cannot afford to target Noah Fifita even if there's no rules

The biggest issue right off the jump is that Washington can't fight tampering with tampering. At least as long as they are pursuing the moral high road. If they want to pursue the legal case against Demond Williams and whichever university ends up stealing him from under Jedd Fisch, they can't then go do the same. Then they throw out that whole legal case by being hypocrites.
That's the obvious problem. However, the other problem is that Noah Fifita has proven to be loyal to Arizona, through and through. The rumors are that Fisch tried to bring him when the coach first came to Washington. Fifita decided to stay when some of his teammates were flocking to Washington.
Fifita won't participate in the nonsense of the portal, and if he does, it seems like he would do it the right way. This means that Washington has to go in a new direction and find a different quarterback.
If they are going to open up a tampering case, they better make sure their house is in order, and they aren't participating in the same problem that they are accusing others of. They need to keep their nose clean.
