The Washington Huskies are one of four finalists for the services of 5-star guard Dylan Mingo. He's narrowed his choices to four: Penn State, North Carolina, Baylor, and Washington, and he's now decided he will announce his choice tomorrow. Both Baylor and North Carolina have been considered as the favorites at various times, while Penn State and Washington have been the darkhorses in the mix.

Yet, North Carolina fans are looking at his decision day and thinking that it may have given them a boost. It could be a coincidence, but it's a heck of a coincidence if so. Tomorrow, February 17, is Michael Jordan's birthday. The greatest player to ever walk through the doors at Chapel Hill. Does Mingo's choice of the date give us any indication of his choice?

If so, it's not good for the Huskies or Baylor or Penn State.

There's not much buzz about Washington and Mingo, and typically that's not a good sign. However, Washington has stayed in the mix, and he hasn't eliminated them. They will be one of the four options tomorrow. Mingo took his visit to Montlake back in August, but has since visited the other three, with North Carolina being the most recent.

This could be another indication that UNC is the favorite to land Mingo, as they got the last impression. Yet, if there is a silver lining, that impression was back in November.

Penn State has one thing going for it: he's the younger brother of current player Kayden Mingo, which could boost their chances. Yet, many assume he's off to North Carolina or Baylor.

Unless all the experts are wrong, it will be another unfortunate miss for Sprinkle, who doesn't really have any more irons in the recruiting fire. He may be seriously going with all portal players to replace any exits this next season.
