The Washington Football program continues to churn out NFL caliber talent year after year. This season, seven Huskies have been invited to the very select NFL Combine

The 2018 NFL Combine is already preparing for the influx of the nations best football talent. And that means another wave of Washington Football players are about to crash the NBA Combine. Second verse, same as the first, as  once more seven Washington Huskies have received their invitations.  That is the same number of Washington Football players who were invited in 2017.

There are striking differences in the combine classes, however. A year ago, three Washington Huskies: WR John Ross, CB Sidney Jones, and S Budda Baker, all ranked among the top five at their position. This year that is less likely.  But the NFL has ranked the top 50 college players for the 2018 NFL Draft, and two Washington players are among the nation’s best.  Daniel Jeremiah has defensive tackle Vita Vea ranked ninth, and wide receiver Dante Pettis ranked 46th.

Combine importance to Huskies’ hopes

For now, the pre-combine projection for Vita Vea is round one, Dante Pettis is round two, and the remaining group on Day three of the NFL Draft. But the situation is very fluid. And with so many quarterbacks and running backs available in this draft,Huskies have a chance to move up the board quickly if they perform well.  A good showing at the NFL Draft will aid the efforts to recruit more quality prospects to Washington going forward.
