Washington Huskies Women’s Softball Team lands Transfer from former Rutgers IF Taryn Atlee

The Washington Huskies Women’s Softball Team competed as hard as anyone in the recent 2017 Women’s Championship World Series. On one hand, despite a hitting drought, the team played hard and came oh-so-close to walking away a winner.  On the other hand, the team lost to the “home team” Oklahoma Sooners by a score of 3-1. And eventually, after picking up a win, they fell to a second and final loss to the Florida Gators 5-2.  Oklahoma went on to defeat Florida for the national title.  All the while, a Rutgers Scarlet Knight Women’s Softball Team infielder by the name of Taryn Atlee cheered the Huskies on. It was a mystery.

The mystery was solved less than 24 hours ago. As a matter of fact, in a surprise announcement freshman infielder Taryn Atlee announced plans to transfer to the University of Washington.

Atlee Slides Into Lineup

Taryn Atlee is a rather accomplished freshman infielder. In fact, she batted .393 for the Scarlet Knights this past year. But she hails from Sacramento California, and that East coast vibe takes some getting used to.

The Washington Huskies will lose senior infielder Ali Aguilar and senior outfielder Casey Stangel. Atlee’s arrival will certainly help to fill Aguilar’s void.  You may recall that Aguilar contributed some heroics in the World Series double elimination.

This is excellent news for both the Huskies and for Atlee.
