Washington Huskies recruiting progressing. Highly coveted defensive end Cameron Latu Selects the Washington Huskies among his Top 5 schools

Salt Lake City Utah frequently boasts some of the best football prospects in the nation.  As a matter of fact, the recruiting class of 2018 is no exception.  You see, resident defensive end Cameron Latu is a highly sought after prospect.  And so, he begins the difficult process of paring down the number of schools from 23 schools to a workable number of five.   As reported previously in similarity to outside linebacker Jake Lamb, the Washington Huskies have been selected as a top five school.

2018 Recruiting Class Impressive

If Latu commits, the Washington Huskies would be able to pair him up with 2018 commit Draco Bynum to bookend the defensive line for what could potentially be an incredible recruiting class.

The Huskies have already made great progress on offensive skill players, landing two of the nation’s finest quarterback prospects, three wide receivers, and one running back.  On the defensive side, the team has already secured verbal commitments from outside linebacker Jack Sirmon and Bynum.

The Husky Edge

While Cameron Latu has some powerhouse teams to sort through, the Washington Huskies have several advantages worth noting.  Since he hails from Salt Lake City, his family and friends would find far more opportunity for media coverage if he elects a PAC-12 school   Of this top five, Alabama and Nebraska do not fall into this category.

Conversely, only four schools in the nation made it to the NCAA playoffs last year.  Of the schools on the Top 5 list, neither USC, Nebraska, nor Utah make that cut.

Four other schools are also included in the top five. See what they have to say here:

USC
Utah
Nebraska
