Highly coveted outside linebacker Jack Lamb has narrowed his search down to five schools. The Washington Huskies Made Lamb’s Top 5

Outside linebacker 2018 prospect has made optimal use of his popularity to attract offers from over 20 very competitive NCAA programs.  So too, the Washington Huskies Football Team has made optimal use of the 2016 NCAA playoff appearance.  The team has made new inroads into previously inaccessible recruiting territory. On top of that, the team has become systemic and selective in the recruiting approach, focusing on fit rather than ranking.  Now the two hope they are on a path to intersect in the near future.

The Washington Huskies Recruiting Class of 2018 is well on its way as a successful campaign.   The team has commitments from two of the nation’s best quarterbacks.  In the wake of success on the offensive side of the tracks, the team has begun to attract defensive help as well. The latest commit is strongside defensive end Draco Bynum.  But the team has need for more defensive playmakers.

A Lion Named Lamb

So the latest news is welcome indeed.

While there is much more work ahead for the Washington Huskies, Lamb has pared down a list of 24 schools to get to the five semi finalists. Those schools include Washington, Oregon, Notre Dame, UCLA, and Penn State.  Of those schools, only the Washington Huskies have recent NCAA playoff experience.

Versatile and Productive

Lamb offers a great deal of versatility at his size and weight. He is solid enough to run the defense as an inside linebacker, crashing the holes to meet the ball carrier.  But he is tall enough and possesses the footwork needed to line up at outside as well.  From there, he sets the edge against running plays, covers pass receivers in the flat, and dives recklessly to sack the quarterback.

While the Washington  Huskies could make great use of his talents in multiple positions, they will likely consider Lamb as an heir apparent for linebacker Azeem Victor.
