Jimmy Lake

In quite the contrast to DeBoer, we have Jimmy Lake. Lake was a defensive coordinator under the legendary Chris Petersen, and took over as head coach of the Huskies when Petersen retired at the end of the 2019 season.
Lake's first season at the helm was the COVID-shortened 2020 season, in which the Huskies went a respectable 3-1, but were unable to participate in the final regular season game against Oregon, as well as the Pac-12 championship due to positive COVID tests.
However, Lake's second season in Seattle was nothing short of a disaster. UW started the season in embarrassing fashion, losing to FCS Montana at home while being ranked. Lake would go on to put up a 4-5 record, get suspended by the university for putting hands on a player, and then get fired in the middle of what ultimately became the Huskies' first losing season since 2009.
Fisch may not reach the pinnacle of what DeBoer achieved in his second season, but at the very least, he has a low bar to clear in order to outperform Lake (as long as he finishes the season and doesn't hit any players).
