There are a ton of questions that could probably be asked about the upcoming matchup between the Washington Huskies and the Ohio State Buckeyes. And there are a ton that I could probably draft up and write a few hundred words about. But one of the biggest things that needs to be asked is if the Washington Huskies are up to the task of slowing the Ohio State Buckeyes down.

Because, well, that might just be the biggest thing here. There’s certainly a chance that UW finds a way to get on the board regularly given the way that Elle Ladine and Sayvia Sellers are playing against Big Ten teams. And it’s not like Washington hasn’t won on the road, even if they have struggled a little bit here and there.

But, well, is this particular group of Huskies prepared to clamp down on an Ohio State Buckeyes offense that is scoring an average of 82.4 points per game so far this season? Heck, the Buckeyes are making 46.3 percent of their shots from the field this year.

That’s a tough task ahead of Washington. The Huskies have their work cut out for them.

Can the Washington Huskies women’s basketball team slow down the Ohio State Buckeyes offense?

Now, some things worth noting are that Washington’s defense is actually pretty decent. The Huskies are holding folks to 63.3 points per game. And if we look at Big Ten play, Ohio State’s offense is averaging 76.7 points per game.

But, well, while looking at Big Ten play, it’s worth bringing up how Washington is allowing its opponents to average 72.78 points per game. The Huskies are struggling on defense in Big Ten games. And that’s alarming.

It’ll be fascinating to see how the Huskies try to slow Cotie McMahon and Jaloni Cambridge. Are the Huskies able to do that? Or will Sellers and Ladine need to have an absolutely insane sort of game offensively for this one to be close?
