Danny Sprinkle and his Washington Huskies basketball team seem to play better at home than on the road. And while Washington is getting set to attempt to snap its losing streak by facing the Minnesota Golden Gophers on Saturday morning, there’s a chance that the trip to Minneapolis is nothing but frustrating for Washington Husky men’s basketball fans.

And on February 5, when the Huskies take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers in Seattle, it seems somewhat plausible that UW could find a way to get a conference win. But what about when the Northwestern Wildcats come to town?

Will the Huskies have any sort of shot at beating Northwestern on February 8 when the two teams meet in Alaska Airlines Arena? Well, right now it’s a slim chance, but technically it does exist. It does (kinda) look like Washington (might) be able to find a way to win against Northwestern in a little over a week.

ESPN Analytics Matchup Predictor gives Washington Huskies very slim chance of beating Northwestern Wildcats in Seattle on February 8

It’s worth pointing out that things will almost certainly change between now and when the Huskies actually do welcome the Wildcats to Alaska Airlines Arena. The chances of winning this game will change due to the way the ESPN Analytics Matchup Predictor works.

But as of right now, Washington will have to fight an uphill battle to beat Northwestern, but it doesn’t seem impossible for UW to take down the Wildcats. And honestly it’s kinda exciting to get a little hope at winning a Big Ten game.

According to ESPN Analytics, Washington has a 38.9 percent chance of beating Northwestern. It’s not a great chance. It’s a pretty slim chance. But it’s still a chance.

And to be completely frank, it’s not like Northwestern has looked like a juggernaut this season. The Wildcats are 12-8 overall and have a 3-6 Big Ten record. Theoretically, this game does appear to be one that UW might be able to steal. But we’ll see what happens. I do feel good about the fact that this game is in Seattle. I will say that much.
