The first season of the Jedd Fisch era of Washington Huskies football is in the books and now we’re essentially fully one year in of Fisch’s time on Montlake. Fisch now has the chance to enter this offseason looking to build upon the foundation that his first team in Seattle helped establish.

And while the 6-7 season wasn’t exactly what Washington Husky football fans were hoping for, it wasn’t all that bad. In many ways, it was a good sort of rebuilding and transition season for the Huskies.

While folks are right to be disappointed with the way UW lost a few games this past season, it’s worth remembering that Fisch has demonstrated he can quickly rebuild a program. And with what he inherited (and all that changed in a hurry about a year ago with Kalen DeBoer’s departure to Tuscaloosa), this is a rebuilding situation.

So, as the Huskies head into this offseason and get set for year two under Fisch, Washington Husky football fans will be hoping for improved results. We’ll see what this coming season brings (it’ll be here before you know it.

But, when does the 2025 Washington Huskies football season start?

2025 Washington Husky football schedule: When is UW’s first game of the 2025 college football season?

Fisch and the Huskies will kick off the 2025 football season when they host the Colorado State Rams in Husky Stadium in Seattle on Saturday, August 30. That will begin the second season under Fisch’s leadership on Montlake and the second full season of Washington’s time as a member of the Big Ten conference.

There’s going to be plenty of challenges ahead for Fisch and the Huskies this season as they take on the challenge that comes with being in the Big Ten. But, with one full recruiting cycle as the head coach of the Huskies, and a young, dynamic quarterback who fits Fisch’s vision for his offense, it’ll be fascinating to see what UW looks like this coming season.

And on August 30, we’ll get a glimpse of what to expect from the Huskies this season. Go ahead and mark your calendars, folks.
