When does the 2025 Washington Huskies baseball season start?

A lot of new is happening on Montlake. That’s specifically true with the Washington Huskies baseball team.

And right now, we’re closing in on the start of the 2025 Washington Huskies baseball schedule. We’re just about a month out from the start of the Big Ten era of UW baseball as Eddie Smith, the new head baseball coach in Seattle, will take the Diamond Dawgs out east to get the season started on the East Coast.

Smith is taking over a program that has seen a bit of change in recent seasons (much like the rest of the University of Washington athletics department). 

Following the departure of former UW baseball coach Jason Kelly (who left Seattle following a losing season to be a pitching coach in the SEC with the Texas A&M Aggies), Smith steps in and is set to guide the Huskies as they make the move into the Big Ten.

2025 Washington Huskies baseball schedule: When will the 2025 UW baseball season start?

And as I mentioned, the start of the Smith era (and the Big Ten era) of UW baseball is just around the corner. The Huskies will head all the way across the country to compete in Conway, South Carolina as the Huskies baseball season starts on Friday, February 14 at 8:30 p.m. Pacific Time against the Kansas State Wildcats. 

Washington will be in Conway for four days, facing the aforementioned Wildcats, Coastal Carolina Chanticleers, and Saint Joseph’s Hawks from Valentine’s Day through Monday, February 17.

From there, there’ll be a quick turnaround for the Huskies as they head back to the West Coast, but this time to compete against the Stanford Cardinal in Palo Alto, California. The Huskies will play four games at Stanford from Friday, February 21 through Monday, February 24. 

There’s even more travel for the Huskies after that. A trip to San Francisco will be followed by competing in the Las Vegas Classic. Washington will finally return home for the Huskies first home game on March 4. 

All things considered, it’s a pretty wild start to the 2025 Washington Huskies baseball season, but it makes some sense when looking at the fact that February weather in Seattle isn’t exactly the best for baseball. At least not compared to some other parts of the country. Such is life in the Pacific Northwest.
