Giles Jackson got the scoring started for Washington with a pretty impressive 40-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter of the Sun Bowl, but that was far from being the only impressive touchdown catch the senior wide receiver had for the Huskies.
In the second quarter of the 2024 Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl against the Louisville Cardinals, Jackson snagged a solid 49-yard touchdown that helped the Washington Huskies football team tie the score back up at 14-14.
Seemingly any time Demond Williams Jr. wanted to throw a touchdown pass, Jackson was ready. The senior receiver has an incredible playmaking ability and in this game he had a great connection with the true freshman quarterback.
Washington definitely needed this score and the Huskies needed Jackson all game. The 49-yard pass is the longest that Williams has thrown in his career so far and it was, of course, the second touchdown pass of 40 or more yards that he threw in this game.

From the 49-yard line, Williams took the snap, was able to stay in the pocket away from pressure from the Louisville front seven, and hurled the ball through the air to Jackson, who caught the pass as it sailed into his arms at the eight yard line and then walked into the end zone.
It was a beautiful pass, a clean catch, and a fun touchdown to watch happen. You should check it out:
One of my favorite parts of this catch is how cleanly Jackson caught the pass and how he was completely and totally wide open down the field. He ran a great route, the play was designed well, and the Cardinals weren’t prepared for it. And thus, a beautiful touchdown pass that tied the game up at 14-14.
