We’re continuing our quest to go through one of my favorite stats ever: the longest runs in Washington Husky football history that didn’t end up being a touchdown. And after exploring how Corey Dillon recorded one of these in the late 1900’s, we’re sticking around in the last millennium to find another such run that is tied with Dillon’s 75-yard rush against the Ducks in 1996.

Let’s go one season later, to 1997, to see how Rashaan Shehee ran for 75 yards on a non-scoring play against the BYU Cougars.

Again, this niche, fun bit of Washington Husky football history is tied with Dillon’s run against the Ducks from one season prior and this performance against BYU is pretty impressive. Especially with it being a road game in Provo.

Washington Husky football history: Rashaan Shehee had a fun run against the BYU Cougars for 75 yards (but the play didn’t end in a score)

During the 1997 win over the BYU Cougars (a 42-20 victory for the Huskies), Shehee managed to run for a grand total of 171 yards and a touchdown on just 12 carries against BYU’s defense. But, in this game, 75 of those yards came on one play.

These sorts of plays definitely went a long way to helping the Huskies come out on top against BYU and it also helped Shehee get one of his 10 games in which he ran for over 100 yards. Oh, and just four of those games came during the 1997 season. This play was pretty special.

And that 75 yard run also contributed in a noteworthy way to Shehee’s career rushing total of 2381 yards.

Only two runs throughout all of the history of Washington Husky football went for more yards and didn’t end up in a touchdown. This play is fun and unique and definitely worth celebrating. Because it’s quirky and I’m here for it.
