After nine weeks and eight Washington Husky football games, UW quarterback Will Rogers is in the middle of the pack when it comes to the Big Ten’s touchdown pass leaders. The signal-caller for the Huskies is currently holding on to the No. 6 spot in the conference and he’s sharing it with Maryland Terrapins quarterback Billy Edwards Jr.

Rogers has been a steady passer for most of the season, but he (along with Jonah Coleman), hasn’t exactly found a way to get into the end zone much in recent weeks. The Huskies just haven’t been scoring too much lately and UW definitely has some notable problems when it comes to trying to score once the Huskies get into the red zone.

That’s not just a Will Rogers issue. It’s definitely a Will Rogers issue, that’s for sure. But it’s not just him. There are a number of factors at play and Washington will have to get those resolved sooner rather than later if the Huskies are going bowling this season.

But, again, for the most part, Rogers has been fairly productive. Let’s look at how he stacks up amongst the best in the Big Ten, shall we?

Big Ten touchdown pass leaders after week 9: Where is Will Rogers?

After nine weeks, here are the touchdown pass leaders in the Big Ten so far this season:

  • Dillon Gabriel (Oregon Ducks) - 18 touchdowns
  • Will Howard (Ohio State Buckeyes) - 17 touchdowns
  • Miller Moss (USC Trojans) - 16 touchdowns
  • T-4. Kurtis Rourke (Indiana Hoosiers) - 15 touchdowns
  • T-4. Luke Altmyer (Illinois Fighting Illini) - 15 touchdowns
  • T-6. Will Rogers (Washington Huskies) - 13 touchdowns
  • T-6. Billy Edwards Jr. (Maryland Terrapins) - 13 touchdowns
  • T-8. Drew Allar (Penn State Nittany Lions) - 12 touchdowns
  • T-8. Max Brosmer (Minnesota Golden Gophers) - 12 touchdowns
  • T-10. Dylan Raiola (Nebraska Cornhuskers) - nine touchdowns
  • T-10. Athan Kaliakmanis (Rutgers Scarlet Knights) - nine touchdowns

There’s no doubt that Washington Husky fans want Rogers to score more touchdowns. I’d be willing to bet Rogers himself would like to see that as well. But he’s been efficient and effective. And this team as a whole just has to find more ways to get into the end zone. That’s not just on the quarterback (though he bears a rather significant burden and responsibility there).
