The Washington Husky softball team is doing a really effective job of building momentum and getting some pretty impressive wins.

UW, when facing the Jackson State Tigers for the second time during the OUTRIGGER Invitational (again, still unsure why that’s in all caps) in Hawaii, managed to absolutely crush their foe in a way that they were unable to do in the first meeting between these two teams.

And that’s great to see because Washington now has a six-game winning streak. The Huskies are absolutely thriving right now and that’s great to see. I, for one, am a huge fan of having the Huskies keep winning. I, for one, would love to see that winning streak keep building.

What makes this particular portion of the winning streak interesting to me is that Jackson State actually did a solid job of challenging Washington in the first meeting between the two teams.

But that certainly wasn’t the case on Thursday as UW beat the Tigers 10-0.

Washington Huskies softball team snags dominant win over Jackson State in Hawaii

All throughout this game, the Huskies found ways to consistently get on the scoreboard. Washington scored a run in the first inning, two in the second inning, two in the fourth inning, a run in the fifth inning, and then four more in the sixth inning.

I mean, we’re talking about a game in which Washington held a solid 5-0 lead after four innings and then the Huskies pulled away late to get a run rule win. And as it turns out, this was Washington’s second run rule victory of the afternoon as UW beat Howard 8-0.

With this win, Washington has improved to 12-7 on the season and Jackson State now sits at 10-4 on the year. On top of the six games in a row that Washington has managed to win here, the Huskies have also won eight of their last 10 games. That’s encouraging for a team that was once struggling to find any sort of consistent success just a couple weeks back.
