It’s safe to say that Myles Gaskin, whose name is all over the Washington Husky football record book given that he was insanely productive while playing for UW, was a pretty successful running back during the four years he spent in Seattle, right?

That’s fair to say?

Gaskin, who in his career helped Washington get to the College Football Playoffs, played in a total of 52 games for the Huskies, ran for over 5300 yards, and scored over 60 touchdowns (including rushing, receiving, and passing scores) was pretty good, right?

That’s accurate, correct?

Well, I’d say so. The man was a dominant force for the Huskies and was a huge reason why Wasington won numerous games during his time on Montlake. And while he owns a number of impressive records, he also has partial ownership of a pretty unique one.

Let’s take a look at the way that Myles Gaskin beat up on the Oregon Ducks in 2016 and how one of his most impressive runs of the day actually didn’t end up being a touchdown run. And it was that sort of run that helped further etch Gaskin’s name in Washington Husky football history.

Washington Husky football history: Long live Myles Gaskin’s 68 yard run against the Oregon Ducks

Washington absolutely beat up on the Ducks on October 8, 2016. Washington beat Oregon 70-21 in Autzen Stadium. It was a ton of fun and snapped a losing streak to the Ducks. UW was also ranked at No. 5 in the country at the time.

And Gaskin managed to run for 197 yards (12.3 yards per carry) and a touchdown. But one particular run, a 68-yard run that didn’t end up in the end zone, happened to be one of the longest runs without a touchdown that any Husky has ever produced.

It’s a weird stat. It’s a stat that I love. And Gaskin, along with Spider Gaines and Deontae Cooper, owns the No. 9 spot on the list thanks to this particular run for the Huskies in an incredibly lopsided rivalry win over the Ducks. I’m here for it.
