Washington Huskies vs. Iowa Hawkeyes: How to listen online, radio broadcast
By Ethan Lee
There’s a very real chance that we get to witness a rather low-scoring defensive slugfest on Saturday as the Washington Huskies head East to the Midwest to meet up with the Iowa Hawkeyes in Iowa City, Iowa. That’s because two of the Big Ten’s best defenses are set to meet up at Kinnick Stadium at 9 a.m. PT (11 a.m. local time).
The Iowa Hawkeyes enter into this game holding opponents to just 18 points per game (a stat that’s inflated a bit by the Ohio State Buckeyes racking up 35 points in a lopsided win for Ohio State last weekend). At the same time, the Hawkeyes are holding foes to a grand total of 300.6 yards of offense per game.
That’s a legit defense.
On the other side of things, the Washington Huskies are also able to boast about a stout defense (something Michigan found out about last weekend). Steve Belichick’s defense is holding opponents to 256 total yards of offense per game while also limiting opponents to 13.2 points per game.
It’s going to be intriguing to see which of these teams’ offenses will be able to overcome the two impressive defenses that will be present in this game.

All of that said, Washington is the one team in this game that seems to have a balanced offensive approach here. The Huskies have shown some versatility and the ability to move up and down the field (they just need to improve on getting into the end zone). UW is averaging 462.7 total yards of offense per game and 25.5 points per game.
On the other sideline, Iowa is averaging a grand total of 27 points per game, but they are gaining just 363.4 total yards of offense per game. The Hawkeyes are relying on Kaleb Johnson and their running game to really do much damage and that has ultimately limited Iowa a bit.
Which defense will do a better job this weekend? Who will come out on top? There’s a very real chance that this game ends up being a low-scoring mess of a slugfest.
