Well, the Washington Huskies won’t be spoiling anyone’s season. Except maybe their own, I guess? Jedd Fisch’s Huskies were unable to take down their longtime rival as they fell flat on the road against the Oregon Ducks.

At one point in the second quarter, Washington was down 28-6. This game was bad.

It shouldn’t be too much of a surprise that Washington lost this game. The Huskies, now 6-6 on the season and 4-5 overall, are rebuilding and trying to move forward as a program. Oregon, the No. 1 team in the country and still unbeaten at 12-0 overall and 9-0 in Big Ten play, looks like the best team in the country.

Oh, and this game was in Autzen Stadium. The Huskies have yet to beat anyone outside of Husky Stadium this season. It’s weird, but basically Washington can’t win unless they’re playing at home. Maybe the Huskies are cursed?

Or maybe they’re just a flawed team that has some potential and intriguing young players that will do well as they continue to develop and become a more united team moving forward into year two of this coaching staff.

Maybe that’s it.

Washington Huskies fall flat vs. Oregon Ducks, lose by 28 points on the road in Autzen Stadium

The Huskies simply had no answer for Oregon’s rushing attack, which gained well over 200 yards on the ground. Because the Ducks’ defensive front clearly won this game for Oregon, Washington was held to just 43 rushing yards.

Oh! And Demond Williams Jr., the future of this team, got sacked 10 times. That can’t be fun.

Speaking of Williams, he did show some potential as he efficiently completed 17 of 20 passes for 201 yards and a touchdown. He looks like he’s going to have a great future on Montlake.

But, Williams wasn’t able to outduel Dillon Gabriel, who threw for 209 yards and two touchdowns while also running for an additional score. And he did that seemingly effortlessly.

Washington will now wait to figure out what bowl game the Huskies will compete in. Thankfully, bowl eligibility was not on the line in this game. Unfortunately, we’re going to see Oregon march on to the Big Ten Championship Game with a perfect record. It would’ve been nice to spoil that for them.
