The 2025 Washington Husky spring game is just about here, folks. It’s technically game day for Jedd Fisch and the Washington Husky football team (which, you know, is admittedly a little odd to say given that we’re in early May, but hey, it’s a UW football game and we’ll definitely take what we can get).

The Dawgs after Dark spring game is tonight! At 6:30 p.m. at Alaska Airlines Field at Husky Stadium (that’s a lot of “at’s” for one sentence, but let’s roll with it), the Huskies will face off against *checks notes* the Huskies!

Michael Penix Jr. is back in town and will help coach the Purple Team (in an honorary role) while Donald Butler (who is also back in town) will assist in leading the Gold Team.

The Purple team, headlined by starting quarterback Demond Williams Jr., is likely to get a bunch of fan attention given that the talented quarterback (and Denzel Boston and Adam Mohammed) will be playing for that team.

However, Butler’s squad will have Jonah Coleman, transfer quarterback Kai Horton, and incredibly intriguing tight end Decker DeGraaf.

2025 Washington Husky spring game rosters announced

Here’s what the full rosters look like:

There’s absolutely no way that I’m going to be alone in this, but I truly love that Williams will have a chance to hang out with Penix for a bit. I don’t know how much truly meaningful coaching will take place versus just the opportunity to be in the same space as the former UW quarterback legend, but I think that’s a valuable opportunity for Washington’s new starting quarterback.

It’s also going to be fun to see Coleman on the opposite offense as Williams and seeing how all of that plays out in terms of overall production in this game.

And then of course, how will the defense look? UW lost some key leaders from last year’s bunch as well as a change at defensive coordinator. What will a Washington defense that’s coached by Ryan Walters actually look like? We’ll get a glimpse at all of this soon enough.
