Danny Sprinkle and his Washington Huskies are almost certainly going to have a tough time in the Midwest this evening as they continue their Midwest road trip by heading up to Madison, Wisconsin to face off against the No. 11 Wisconsin Badgers.
The Washington Husky men’s basketball team (13-14 overall, 4-12 Big Ten) are currently the owners of the last place spot in the Big Ten men’s basketball standings. The Badgers, on the other hand, at 21-6 overall and 11-5 in Big Ten play, have managed to be in the top four of the Big Ten basketball standings.
So, yeah, this is going to be a pretty significant test for Sprinkle and the Huskies. It’s going to be tough for UW to get a win against *checks notes* uh, UW.
Wisconsin is a significantly better team and that’s certainly evidenced by the fact that they have a really good record, but it’s also apparent in the fact that the Badgers are beating folks by 10.8 points per game while UW’s average scoring margin currently sits at -1.5 points per game.
That’s a problem!
Washington Huskies face huge problem as they travel to Madison to meet up with Wisconsin Badgers
Beyond just that, the Badgers are averaging 81.7 points per game (while Washington is averaging just 72.6 points per game). Wisconsin is hitting on 46.8 percent of its shots from the field and 36.3 percent of its shots from deep.
The Huskies will definitely face a tough test in trying to slow down this offense. Especially when looking at how the Huskies are giving up 79 points per game to Big Ten teams this season.
Oh, and if you’re hoping for UW to outscore *checks notes* UW, that’s going to be hard to pull off as the Huskies are averaging just 44.3 percent of their shots from the field and are being outscored by 9.3 points per game in Big Ten games.
This game could certainly get ugly. Here’s to hoping that it won’t! I’m not exactly optimistic, but I’d definitely appreciate it if Sprinkle and the Huskies could upend one of the best teams in the Big Ten (and country).
