Washington Huskies handed 4th loss of season as No. 13 Indiana Hoosiers stay unbeaten

It’s probably safe to say that Jedd Fisch and the Washington Huskies didn’t have much fun when they went to Bloomington, Indiana. Everyone else who was present probably enjoyed the game though as the Huskies suffered a humbling 31-17 loss at the hands of the Indiana Hoosiers.
Washington’s struggles in its first season in the Big Ten definitely continued when the Huskies took on the No. 13 Hoosiers Saturday. And it shouldn’t shock anyone who has kept up with Indiana that the Hoosiers looked like a complete team.
Washington has now lost three of its last four games and the Huskies and things look grim for UW’s chances of making it to a bowl game.
There simply is no room for error down the stretch of the season if Washington is going to make it to something once the regular season wraps up for the Huskies. The Huskies have a pretty challenging schedule up ahead in November and they’ll need to play much better football down the stretch than they have in recent weeks.

And this is incredibly frustrating as Jonah Coleman ran for 104 yards on just 19 carries to get his fourth 100-yard rushing game this season. But while Coleman thrived at running back, Will Rogers struggled at quarterback. The former Mississippi State Bulldog managed to complete 19 of his 26 pass attempts, but he only managed to throw for 202 yards.
Oh! And Rogers also had two passes picked off by Indiana’s defense (both of which were snagged by D’Angelo Ponds), one of which was a pick six. And that really set the tone early for what this game could be.
The Hoosiers, who were without their starting quarterback due to injury, managed to find success on the ground as Justice Ellison used 29 carries to run for 123 yards and a touchdown. And that helped Indiana get the aforementioned 31-17 win over the Huskies.
As a whole, UW allowed for 188 rushing yards for the Hoosiers. It just wasn’t a great performance for any part of Washington’s football team.
Indiana looks legit, but there’s no real good reason for the Huskies to have lost in this way coming off a bye week. Here’s to hoping that things turn around when Washington returns home to meet up with the USC Trojans.
