In recent seasons, it’s become a trend for many college football teams to schedule a big time game in a neutral site location to get the season started. And there are a ton of opinions about whether or not that’s good for the sport.
I’m not here to discuss any of that because that’s not Washington’s problem this season.
While we all wait for the start of the 2025 Washington Husky football season, UW fans won’t have to wait too terribly long to get back into Husky Stadium. At least not in the grand scheme of things. Jedd Fisch and the Washington Huskies will actually start the 2025 college football season at home on Alaska Airlines Field at Husky Stadium.
That means that in a few months, Washington will get its season started with a nice, fun home field advantage when Jay Norvell and the Colorado State Rams come to Seattle. On August 30, the second season of the Jedd Fisch era (and also the Big Ten Conference era) of UW Husky football will get underway.
And that, my friends, is exactly when Washington will have its first home game of the 2025 season.
When is the first home game of the 2025 Washington Husky football schedule?
There are a lot of cool things that this game represents. First, UW will be looking to build upon the 6-7 season the Huskies had in 2024, which really felt like a transition year in many ways. The 2025 Husky football season shouldn’t have that same feeling.
Also, this will be the first opportunity that we get to see Jonah Coleman, Demond Williams Jr., Denzel Boston, and so many other key contributors to an offense that should look a lot more like what Jedd Fisch typically wants his offenses to look like. Things should be a lot more fun on that side of the ball this coming season.
