Jedd Fisch and the Washington Huskies football team are looking for an opportunity to prove their worth in the Big Ten this coming season. But, well, that might be easier said than done. The Huskies will need to find a way to get some noteworthy wins this season.

After Washington’s first season in the Big Ten delivered some tough learning experiences (such as how disastrously awful it can be to travel across multiple time zones for games in the Midwest and on the East Coast), it’ll be intriguing to see how the Huskies handle the 2025 slate.

Because, well, there are certainly still some tough road games on the 2025 Washington Huskies football schedule. It’s not like life in the Big Ten will suddenly become easy for Fisch and the Huskies. They’ll need to be ready for the challenges their new conference will deliver them all throughout the season.

3 toughest road games on the 2025 Washington Huskies football schedule

Let’s go over the three toughest road games Washington has lined up for this coming season, shall we?

Honorable mention: Washington State for the Apple Cup

This is a team that is going through a transition with a brand new head coach coming up from the FCS ranks. While I think Washington State will be an intriguing team to keep an eye on throughout the coming season, and the Apple Cup can certainly get weird, it’s too hard to know what to expect from Wazzu right now.

No. 3: A late season trip to Camp Randall Stadium for the Huskies

Camp Randall is a historic venue that will be packed with fans who are thrilled to see their team welcome a Big Ten newcomer to town. And of course, the weather in Wisconsin this time of year might be pretty brutal. I don’t love the timing of this game for the Huskies. This could certainly be a pretty tough challenge for Fisch and UW.

No. 2: All the way across the country for the Maryland Terrapins

There’s not really much history between the Washington Huskies and Maryland Terrapins. The only time these two teams have met up was back in 1982 in a 21-20 win for Washington. And unfortunately for the Huskies, they’re getting to travel all the way across the country to face Maryland. While the Terrapins are far from having a powerhouse program, it’s the fact that Washington has to make this trip just one week after facing Ohio State. I don’t love that for UW.

No. 1: Meeting up with Michigan in the middle of October

I’m not loving the trip to Ann Arbor being set up smack dab in the middle of October. I don’t love the idea of the Washington Huskies having to go to the Big House to play the Michigan Wolverines this season. While Washington demonstrated that they can take care of business against Michigan, that did happen at home in Husky Stadium. And we also just saw the Wolverines dismantle Ohio State and Alabama.
