The Washington Huskies really ran all over Oregon State in a truly lopsided 2013 win

Steve Sarkisian is such an effective architect of offenses. He was so dang good at piecing together schemes and systems that would allow his teams to thrive while he was the Washington Huskies. And to be fair, he did a pretty good job at USC (before some off the field stuff became a problem) and he’s doing one heck of an incredible job at the University of Texas right now.

But as for what he did in one of his last games with the Washington Huskies? Well, I mean, it just truly was incredible stuff. We’re talking about an offense that had to perform without Keith Price and it still managed to dominate.

Cyler Miles got the start at quarterback, and he was fine, but it was the fact that Washington pivoted its attack plan and ran for 530 yards and scored SEVEN rushing touchdowns that makes this truly fascinating.

Exploring the most dominant wins in Washington Husky football history since 2000: Washington got really close to scoring 70 points on Oregon State

This was the last of a bunch of really fun 2013 blowout wins for the Washington Huskies. And it was a really fun win all on its own. Here’s what you need to know with this huge, lopsided win for Washington over Oregon State:

  • Score: Washington Huskies 69 vs. Oregon State Beavers 27
  • Margin of Victory: 42 points
  • Coaches: Steve Sarkisian vs. Mike Riley
  • Washington's leading passer: Cyler Miles (15-24, 162 yards, 1 TD, 0 INTs, 133.0 rating)
  • Washington's leading rusher: Bishop Sankey (23 carries, 179 yards, 7.8 avg, 3 TDs)
  • Washington's final record: 9-4
  • Washington's bowl destination: Fight Hunger Bowl (defeated BYU 31-16)

Washington managed to build an absolutely insurmountable first half lead over the Oregon State Beavers in 2013 and ran away with the win

The Huskies truly owned this game from start to finish. Yes, Oregon State managed to score some points and some yards, but Sarkisian’s offense was just absolutely impossible for the Beavers to consistently slow down.

And it was completely impossible for the Beavers to try and stop the Huskies here. That defense was doing truly nothing effective when it came to stopping the Dawgs back in 2013. Thus the 69 points and nearly 700 yards of offense.

I mean, we’re talking about a game that had three different Huskies run for over 140 yards of offense. Bishop Sankey had 179 yards and three touchdowns. Deontae Cooper had 166 yards and two touchdowns. Dwayne Washington had 141 yards and two touchdowns. Truly impressive stuff.
