For the most part, the Washington Huskies did a really good job on Tuesday as they faced off against Western Oregon in an exhibition game. It was expected that Washington would dominate this game, and that’s exactly what the Huskies did.

But, almost more importantly, the Huskies provided their head coach with some more opportunities to identify things that need to be improved upon. It would have been boring had the Huskies gone through their exhibition win without being able to take anything away from it. Instead, they won by nearly 40 points and also found a few things to build upon.

It’s certainly plausible that Danny Sprinkle, the brand new head coach of the Huskies, had to do a little bit of nitpicking, but that's not a bad thing. You almost want your head coach to be a nitpicking perfectionist. And if that helps Washington succeed in the long run, then have at it, Sprinkle.

Please, go find the things that need to be fixed and improved upon, no matter how small they are. And that’s what happened after Washington’s first (exhibition) win of the Sprinkle era.

Danny Sprinkle does a little nitpicking and finds areas that Washington Huskies need to improve after dominant win

"There's some stuff we need to work on," Sprinkle explained to media members after the game

The Huskies won 105 to 68. And there are some things they need to work on. I, for one, love our flawed yet thriving Washington Huskies. Let’s get some issues fixed and get better at beating opponents by absurd amounts of points, shall we?

"With those long shots, you know, there's going to be long rebounds. A couple times our guys just ran in there instead of boxing their guy out and then going and getting it," Sprinkle said.

Let’s focus on getting the fundamentals right. Thankfully, as I noted (and as the head coach the Huskies explained, there’s still time to get these things corrected going forward.

"You know, the little stuff that goes into winning, we still have to correct a lot of it, but the good thing is we can show them film and get better,” Washington’s head coach explained.

Washington showed some of its potential on Tuesday. If the Huskies can continue to play up to their full potential, then this rebuild process with Sprinkle could be pretty fun to keep up with for Washington Husky basketball fans.
