I’m sure you’ll be surprised to learn that Myles Gaskin was really, really impressive when he played for the Washington Huskies. Just a truly incredible running back. I’m sure that’s surprising to you at this point. Because we’ve already covered how he’s run for over 1,000 yards on three different occasions prior to the start of his final season in Seattle.
Now we’re about to talk about how he became the first Washington Husky to ever run for 1,000 or more yards in four consecutive seasons.
That’s right. Gaskin was unstoppable for the Huskies. Time and time again he ran for a bunch of yards. From a freshman to a senior, he dominated opposing defenses and proved that he could just keep going. The sheer durability and determination that this task requires is absurd. The man accomplished quite a bit doing this.
Washington Husky football history: Myles Gaskin continued to be unreal and great for the Huskies in 2018
During the 2018 season, Gaskin managed to run for 1,268 yards and scored a dozen touchdowns while getting 259 carries. He averaged 4.9 yards per carry and had 105.7 rushing yards per game. This is a season in which he managed to run for 100 or more yards on seven different occasions.
And he happened to help the Huskies get all the way back to the Rose Bowl, where he ran for 121 yards and scored a couple of touchdowns against the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Some other noteworthy games from the 2018 season for Gaskin:
- 170 yards vs. the Washington State Cougars
- 148 yards vs. the Stanford Cardinal
- 143 yards vs. the Utah Utes
- 135 yards vs. the Oregon State Beavers
Gaskin was unreal and he was a key reason why the Huskies had success in this season (and the three that preceded it). I mean, he was just incredibly consistent. We’re talking about a guy who ran for 1,302 yards as a freshman, 1,373 yards as a sophomore, 1,380 yards as a junior, and 1,268 yards as a senior. He also scored 57 touchdowns throughout his career.
