Will Rogers keeping options open and Washington is still in play

Will Rogers was Kalen DeBoer's succession plan at quarterback, but Jedd Fisch's plan may look a lot different. Rogers is back in the transfer portal, but keeping every option on the table, including the Huskies.

. . . . Head Coach: Hugh Freeze. 525. . . 5. Auburn Tigers

If Rogers wants to go somewhere he can immediately take over as the starting quarterback, then Auburn is a good fit. Hugh Freeze has loaded up with talent at wide receiver, bringing in two five-stars in the 2024 recruiting class, and Rogers would be a clear upgrade over Payton Thorne and Robby Ashford, the latter of which is still in the portal.

Last season, Thorne threw for 1,755 yards across 13 starts, just 135 passing yards a game, with only 16 passing touchdowns to 10 interceptions. Rogers has already put together a 4,739-yard season in the same conference and would be the perfect bridge quarterback to Walker White.

White is a four-star recruiting coming in with the five-star receivers, Cam Coleman and Perry Thompson, and is the future of the program at the quarterback position.

However, the Auburn program is a bit of a mess, coming off a 6-7 season, and the SEC is only going to get tougher. If Rogers is heading to the state of Alabama, wouldn’t he just follow the coach that he wanted to play for in the first place?
