Saturday afternoon, Jedd Fisch and the Washington Huskies (3-2, 1-1 Big Ten) will welcome the defending national champs into Husky Stadium. Washington will get the opportunity to get a little revenge for a loss in the national title game as they host the No. 10 Michigan Wolverines (4-1, 2-0 Big Ten).

This is the first time that Washington has played in Seattle against the Huskies since 2001. So, it’s been a little bit.

And while this is a rematch of January’s College Football Playoff National Championship Game, neither team really resembles what they looked like just nine months ago. These two teams have gone through drastic changes.

For the Huskies, Fisch is at the helm. Over on the opposite sideline, Sherrone Moore is leading the Wolverines. And both of these two teams have seen notable amounts of churn and turnover in their rosters from what they had in the starting lineup back in January.

But in spite of all of that change that has happened with both of these teams, and despite the fact that Michigan is an imperfect team, the folks picking games for College GameDay all managed to pick Washington to lose this contest.

College GameDay picks Michigan Wolverines to upend Washington Huskies in Seattle

There’s a few good reasons to trust Michigan here.

They’ve been tested a bit more than Washington and they managed to beat a pretty impressive USC Trojans team. Michigan’s defensive front is terrifying and the Wolverines run the ball incredibly well. Still, the Wolverines are one-sided on offense and they’ve been prone to some less-than-impressive late game moments against the likes of Minnesota and Arkansas State.

Meanwhile, Washington is boasting a top five defense in the Big Ten and the Huskies are thriving in every offensive category (except scoring, which actually does matter quite a bit, folks). Will Rogers, Denzel Boston, Jonah Coleman, Giles Jackson, and so many other talented offensive weapons have combined to put together an impressive yard-generating machine.

If Washington can play a clean game, limit the numerous mental mistakes and penalty problems they’ve been prone to, then maybe we see the Huskies come out on top of this one. Otherwise? Well, Michigan will come away with yet another win over the Huskies this year.
