The Washington Huskies needed a breath of fresh air. They absolutely had to find a way to get on the scoreboard after a disastrous first half against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. And given how rough and inconsistent Washington’s offense looked in the first half, it really seemed like they needed something special to happen.

While Huskies running back Jonah Coleman has broken off several huge runs, he hasn’t yet found a way to make a game changing play just yet. However, Denzel Boston was able to help Washington find some life on offense.

The scoring drive started with Will Rogers connecting with Decker DeGraaf for 21 yards. Cameron Davis then got a 6-yard rush to keep the Huskies moving and got them out to their own 33-yard line. Davis then got a couple more carries, for three and 13 yards respectively.

After a rush for nothing, with the Huskies on their own 49-yard line, Will Rogers was able to connect with Denzel Boston for a 51-yard touchdown reception that flew just six yards through the air and then was carried 45 yards down the field and into the end zone by Boston.

The Huskies definitely needed Boston to make a big play here.

You’ve got to see this play that gave the Huskies (and their fans) something to celebrate in this frustrating game.

Of course, this doesn’t solve all of Washington’s problems. In fact, the Huskies have issues on defense as Rutgers continues to grind out third down conversions against UW. Heck, this doesn’t even fix all of Washington’s offensive issues. The Huskies really need to find some more ways to get into the end zone.

Otherwise Washington will suffer a frustrating road loss and the rest of this season will start to look a little lost.
