Saturday evening provided a ton of chaos across the college football landscape, but it delivered a very important win for the Washington Huskies. Jedd Fisch, in his sixth game leading things in Seattle, managed to get a solid 10-point win over the No. 10 team in the country.
Beating the Michigan Wolverines, and their stout defense and strong rushing attack, has to feel good for Fisch and the Huskies. Especially given the fact that many didn’t expect Washington to win this game. And that includes the folks over at College GameDay.
ESPN’s college football preview show is a monumental piece of every college football Saturday for numerous fans across the country. And while they have a ton of bright minds and experts incorporated with the show, none of the regulars or the celebrity guest (shoutout to Seattle Seahawks legend Marshawn Lynch) managed to predict this game correctly.
The Huskies jumped out to an impressive early 14-0 lead and it looked like Washington was going to run away with things for a bit. A change at quarterback led to the Wolverines clawing their way back into the game and jumping ahead 17-14 in the third quarter.
But Will Rogers, Jonah Coleman, Kamren Fabiculanan, Denzel Boston, Logan Sagapolu, Latu Keleki, Giles Jackson, and the rest of the Washington Huskies took over down the stretch and managed to come away with a 27-17 victory.
Thus making everyone on the College GameDay set incorrect.

The Huskies needed this win to get closer to a bowl game and to prove they can contend amongst the best in the Big Ten. It’s safe to say that was probably accomplished on Saturday, even if the Wolverines are a one-sided team right now.
Washington managed to get a very notable win that they should be able to build off of moving forward. That’s great to see.
